I have discovered that the Old English text-font occurs in numerous versions. Could anyone tell me when it was avaible to use for coumputers in general.

A wild gamble, probably with the introduction of the Mac or shortly thereafter. Why it was named Old English is a riddle, it is just a Fraktur.
