You're welcome.
The ntoa - seems to be Garamond Bold Italic (don't know which manufacturer) that has been by someone on a computer, extended and obliqued a bit more than usual.

Not the same - but same feeling would be DK Zonnig -

I have a feeling the original is not a font - but handlettered by the MD who R (registered) it.
Is the magazine still around? It was owned by ITC - and was a wonderful help each month as we would see the new faces being promoted... and a "must" have...
Close to U&lc would be Eloquent... (I always thought it was based on Bodoni/Didot myself...)
http://marketplace.veer.com/font/Eloquent-Pro-Complete-JBT0001065 There are a few that are close - but no cigar. You may want to look at:

I'm not going near that one malvolio...
I will give the commercial font in this case - hands down.
It is Helvetica - but it is Ultra Compressed and probably should be condensed a bit more manually. Helvetica came to the States in the late 1950s - as hot metal. It was also a font that when converted to digital, every manufacturer made their own version... I was Alphatype - so ours was called Claro - can we find the exact Helvetica that was used... probably not... unless you go to the hot metal shop that was left up as a museum in Manhattan (or Maine... there is one there too!)
FYI - it was probably from typositor... and that means many more Helvetica drawings... VGC, Chicago, etc.
