How to submit a font with special characters in the name

27/01/2013 a las 03:11

Have a look at these two fonts:

http://www.dafont.com/angilla-tattoo.font
http://www.dafont.com/a-gentle-touch.font

Both of these fonts have special characters in their displayed names, but those special characters don't show up in the name if you look at the respective files. How does one do this when submitting a font?

Thanks in advance. Your secret friend,
Lee

just ask to the webmaster the message that should be specified instead of your font name

Okay, what's the better way to get this message to the webmaster? Should I use webmaster@dafont.com (http://www.dafont.com/contact.php) or should I put the message in the font description and hope they notice it, do it, and remove that part of the message?

sending an email seems to be a good option.

Is this the done thing though, I'm not trying to do anything that tons of people haven't done already. It seems unlikely that all these people are just emailing the webmaster, doesn't it? Have you done this before? Anyone else?

we always get replies from the almighty webmaster.

Lee, when you submit a new font, you can add an instruction to the webmaster in the Note of the Author section, for custom text display. On my most recent submission, I requested that the banner display be in all capitals.

Oh, okay, great! So it was option #2 ("or should I put the message in the font description and hope they notice it, do it, and remove that part of the message?"). Thanks!

In your experience, do they remove your request from the "note of the author" section before posting it?

Yes, the webmaster followed the request, and did not include the request in the Note of the Author text.
