I have the same ISSUE: I am trying to make my design into a font, and am having a hard time to come up with a font creator that can do different colors, such as in my Miami Vice Font, or different shades/transparencies such as in my Retro Origami font.. any help???

Of course you are having a hard time. You would also have a hard time swimming to the moon.

Transparency and color can be found in this demo color font:
http://www.high-logic.com/fontcreator/demo/monstre/index.html

You can see and use it in your web browser. Well if you are either on Windows 8.1 (IE) or running Firefox.

The font project can be found here:

That experiment produces a layered screen font that can only be used in web browsers. Not a print font and not a full-color font as asked for.

Is this what you want to achieve?

Support for color fonts takes time, but will only succeed if people actually start making them ;-)

You can be one of the first to design color fonts:

The OP asked for FC. No FC in this (interesting) experiment.

I'm happy if other people get inspired by the monstre color font, but here is another experiment which comes pretty close to FC:

It is not something you can easily accomplish. More about it here.

4 glyphs into 1 + choose color

FC, as fntsndmr is talking about are not typefaces but images. What is happening here is that some think that when an image can be shown using a keystroke they think it is a typeface. Wronk om niet te zeggen stom.

@bobby, wronk, not wrong, but in Canada you would not know.

I've been doing some googling and have come across a way to do full color fonts. they're mainly geared towards on screen use.
I've found a couple programs that will make them but they are really expensive. does anyone know anything more about this technology?

.so you can create fonts in a ture color?

20/01/2015 a las 11:35

No. Whatever a ture color may be.
With the High-Logic experiment you can make layered glyphs where each and every layer has one color.
Yes I know, if one would use 16,000,000 layers for every glyph one could produce full color fonts. I don't see anyone do that. Not even with only 256 layers per glyph.
Photofont is nothing but a series of pictures that can not be scaled. So for every point-size you have to make it again. Any idea why no-one uses Photofont?
