I am new to Dafont and i'm having trouble downloading fonts to make banners.
I'll click download, right click the truefont file, click open, and my friend said it was supposed to say install, but it's not. Please help.

First unzip - remember where - and then install.

1- Right clic on the download button
2- "Save as..." to download the ZIP file in a folder of your disk
3- Unzip the zip file to extract the TTF or OTF files
4 - Install the TTF or OTF file (see the FAQ : http://www.dafont.com/faq.php#win
