Poorly displayed font on my computer

29/05/2020 a las 18:39

Hi ! Sorry to bother you people, but I have an issue with a font on my PC.
It's Adello Bright. The file in an .otf and it was installing without any error, but W10 doesn't see it as a font. The upper part of the writing are truncated. It is normal? I mean, did I have to pay to have the full font ?

Here a screen capture of the file. https://zupimages.net/viewer.php?id=20/22/cgcr.png

I've tried other sites to download the font file and it's the same as on Dafont.

C'est à l'auteur de la police qui devrait corriger sa fonte.

Oh du français. C'est gentil. I will try to reach the author and ask him to fix his font. Thank you.

I opened the font and the vertical metrics were correctly set. I regenerated the font without touching anything and the problem was fixed. The font editor might have decided to straighten out the mess.

I've just download again the file from the site and it's the same mess. This is the first Font with this kind of problem, i'ts really frustrating, I'm an author, I want to try something different for my books (obviously I'll donate for the using) but... Well, i'll try try contact the creator and ask him. Thank you, you all for your help.

By the way, how do you have regenerated the font?

Although it fixes the problem, regenerating the font might unintentionally introduce changes to the font that the font author might not approve. As claudeserieux said, it is best that the problem is addressed by the font author.

Regenerating the font is opening the font in a font editor and creating the font again. It's like opening a MS Word document in Word then saving the document again without making any changes to the document.
