I have tried to install several fonts with the purpose of using it in Word and GIMP

I have pressed download and also went into the font on where it is saved, and i tried restarting both Word and GIMP, but i still can't find any of the fonts in either of the font lists. When i tried to transfer the .zip to the fonts on Windows through the control panel, but then nothing happens, and it's still not in the fonts list...

What should i do?
