Coamei is a geometric, contemporary sans-serif typeface built from simple shapes and balanced proportions. Its design aims for a clean, functional appearance while incorporating unique details that give it a distinct personality, preventing it from feeling overly neutral.
Its structure offers excellent legibility and versatility, particularly in body text, headlines, and editorial layouts. Low contrast and a relatively open character construction ensure clarity across various sizes and weights.
Coamei is part of a line of typographic exploration that later led to Caronta and, subsequently, Mínum Sans. The third update, released on September 9, 2026, marked a new direction; all strokes were updated to a more professional, symmetrical, and mature style. This release also expanded accent support for multilingual use and added a SemiBold style.
