I’m new here and trying to download fonts. When I hit download, I just get an entire page of strange characters! Please help, and thank you in advance!

Seems like your computer doesn't know what to do when downloading and/or opening ZIP files.
I'm no expert in mac.
You can wait for someone to help you, or you can search in an adequate forum (like a mac forum), as it's not dafont-related.
