I would like to use a font that is 'personal use' only.
I was wondering: if I made a Tumblr layout,(that anyone on Tumblr could use) is that the wrong kind of use?

"Personal use" is a notion very... personal for each othor. To know wath THIS othor think about that, ask him.

Menhir is advising you to contact the author and ask him directly because everyone have a different vision of what "personal" is
In my view it means : use the font freely if you do not make money thanks to it.
Once again it's very subjective and someone could tell you the opposite.
Notice that if you use the font on a template you do not have the right to include the font file for download without the consent of the author.
