I'm not often around here, but while I'm at it, please accept my heartfelt thanks, for clearing up a mystery that has bothered me for years.
Sometime in the first half of the last decade. I downloaded a font called "gamme" from a Japanese free font website (Kivart ?). When I revisited the site some years later, that font was gone. Assuming therefore that the "gamme" font had been a rip-off of some pay font, I spent lots and lots of time searching for the original, and always came up empty-handed.
I'm definitely happy now...!
This font named Magnificat doesn't seem to mention a designer. In other sites the "designer"is only identified as "Flanker".
The font was designed in 1973 by Friedrich Peter and was a 2nd place winner of the International Typeface Competition. I really resent it when designers are not given proper mention and are often co opted by others who promote thse designs including fonts, as their design.
