Je ne suis pas un spécialiste dans le domaine comme certains ici, mais j'ajouterais :

* l'esthétisme de la police : c'est très subjectif mais il y a quand même certaines polices qui, objectivement, sont mal fichues.

* l'adéquation du style (et ce qu'il dégage comme "atmosphère") et du sujet traité. Par exemple, on peut prendre un style "veille machine à écrire" pour un texte en rapport avec le polar mais pas en rapport avec le space opera.

* l'adéquation avec l'usage qui en est fait : suivant l'usage (titre, corps de texte, logo, légende, note, citation, etc.)
certaines polices conviennent très bien à un usage mais pas à un autre, et réciproquement.

* Fourniture : Ce qui propose la police : Majuscules/minuscules, lettres accentuées, caractères étrangers, italique, gras, etc. Dans certains cas, on peut se contenter du minimum (les majuscules), dans d'autres cas, il est nécessaire d'avoir une famille complète.

* Licence : pour certains documents, je suis pret à payer la licence d'une police qui me semble particulièrement adaptée, pour d'autres, je ne peux pas me le permettre et je ne recherche que des licences permettant un usage gratuit, pour d'autres encore ça m'est indifférent (documents à usage totalement personnel que personne d'autre ne verra excepté quelques proches).

Several author of symbols fonts are not the author of the disign itself.
They transform a disign to a font, sometime without ask the permission of the author of the disign.
So, be carefull to use commercialy a font like this and take informations from the author about the original design.
