Well, this discussion is ancient, but I wanted to share a resource I have created for this:

This creates TRUE single stroke text. It's not a font, it will generate an SVG. But it might be just what you need.

I know of a true single line vector drawn alphabet that looks exactly like a font, but each letter and number is a vector drawing. You must place each letter into your drawing. You cannot type the letters. You can download an svg file of this alphabet on Etsy. I believe the shop is called "my brand of weird.". I was also looking for a true single line vector drawn alphabet that worked with laser cutters and CNC machines. This "font" cuts twice as fast because there is truly a single line. I searched for "fast machine cutting vector drawn font" If you can't find it, let me know and I'll look up the link in my history.

You can make OpenType fonts that mimic single stroke with FontCreator:

Such fonts might look awkward when you use them outside CNC engraving software, so make a test font to see if it work for your situation.
