I've downloaded several fonts from here and have tried using them on personal websites through ftp. Can anyone explain why they won't show on a website after i've published them?

Well, for people to actually see the font, they would have to have the font installed too. But you might be interested in this.

Well, as this is not an HTML/CSS forum, you might not get as much help as you want. But still, how do you embed the fonts ? Can you paste the part of your code concerning fonts ?

I think what you need is a web font. The TTF/OTF fonts won't work on a webpage unless your visitor also have those fonts installed. You need a webfont that browsers downloads and is displayed via CSS declarations on your web pages.

I suggest you contact the authors of those fonts and ask them if they have a web font version of those fonts. Web fonts are not available here at Dafont unless the font auithor included it in the distribution zip.
