SashiX a dit

Thanks, but it was sort of easy. The two have been discussed endlessly, the same old who was first dispute.

yeah, I know, but I tend to forget it too old for this ?

The most interesting discussion, imho, was this one: http://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/forum/case/17826/

let me put it this way, I'm sure you've heard New Yorkers are rude - these guys are French - they make the average NYer look extremely polite.

Best quote from Jackie

Sorry Fred, it is a great one but her ultimate was and will always be the one on the Helvetica and the Times New Roman.

10/11/2012 à 21:27

Oh, I haven't heard about this one - or I don't remember it - would you mind sharing a link ?

10/11/2012 à 21:38

That would take a lot of digging. I remember it well and will never forget it but I can't reproduce it's masterly way. Maybe best when Jackie explains herself. I invite her with a PM.

Thank you

Mercia Fred, for understanding my humor. Congratulations!

Jackie, Fred would like to know about your remark about a judge not capable to see the difference between the Helvetica and the Times New Roman. No-one can explain better than you I think.

10/11/2012 à 23:38

It was true. A court case in the USA I think un the 1980s. Judge could not care less about seeing differences.

10/11/2012 à 23:40

The absolute masterpiece was how it was formulated. I'll never forget.

10/11/2012 à 23:48

That was the case that allowed copycat fonts as long as three or more characters were made differently. I remember r and * made differently, I forgot what they used for the third change.

You could really see it in the Alphatype fonts.

excuse me, but you need to take it so seriously?

Yes at the time. I was a professional typographer.

It use to be an art.
