extra characters at the end of my font

I downloaded 'Ugly Qua', and I get 'ff' at the end of each line of type. Why is this happening? And is there anything I can do to stop it?

I can't find the hard return control. Maybe that is why. Probably best to ask Manfred Klein himself.

Thank you for responding! If I can find an email address for him, I'll ask.

Manfred is easily found. If not directly, then trough his friends.

I just sent him an email. Hopefully, he'll respond.

... But it seems that Manfred Klein is dead since a while...

That's a bummer. I guess there's no fix then. :(

Are you sure that's not a Pilcrow? Do you have paragraph markers enabled in MS Word?

Manfred Klein last answered e-mails in February, 2008. I may have been the recipient of his last e-mail correspondence. He attached a couple of fonts to his reply to me, that were never published on the Internet, and he didn't reply to my follow up.

Thanks for responding!

It's not a pilcrow. If I could attach a screenshot, I would. It's more like ff, and it appears automatically on the last word when I press the return key.

This didn't happen when I first downloaded the font, but then I upgraded my computer to Yosemite, and it changed the way the font worked. I tried to download it again, but the ff still appears.

That is because Manfred Klein has that ff ligature mapped to Unicode 0004, the control character for line feed and the dotless i to 000D, the control character for carriage return.
OS X, as far as I know, uses the line feed control character which is why you see the ff ligature. There is only one solution; a total clean-up if someone like you wants to use this font on a Mac. with OS X.

Yes - I just edit it out, but I just wanted to check and ask if there was an easier way to fix it.

Thanks for trying to help!
