Best of luck to you. Maybe one of the gurus will jump in with a firm ID, but I'm all out of ideas, I'm afraid. 
Struggling to think of/find an exact match, but Salsbury is damned close. (You have the Illustrator chops to redraw the Defoor, I'm sure you could adapt this...)

'And' is Adobe Wood Type Ornaments (shift + 7), should you need it.
