Total beginner at fonts- wisdom please.

Mar 03, 2011 at 19:51

I'm a total beginner and have read the FAQs on uploading a font. They will come in useful but for now I don't know where to start. Let's say that I have 26 letters designed in a digital format. What do I do now? What kind of file do I save them as, and how can I upload them as individual letters? I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I feel that the FAQ section doesn't cover everything I need to know...I'm learning from scratch.

Thanks for you help, in advance.

What digital format are you talking about?

For example, if I designed them in Illustrator and saved each one as a jpeg.

Hopefully you saved the illustrator files, too, because that's what you really need. Then, you'll need software. http://www.dafont.com/soft.php#3

Thank you! That's brilliant.

Here's a helpful link, should you decide to use FontLab.

There's a link on that page to an illustrator template, too, which I found very useful.

Good luck!

Saving each file in illustrator is a great way to do it
