confused why special characters (i.e. apostrophes) don't work

Sep 27, 2012 at 21:56

I've read the FAQs, but if the font I've downloaded displays special characters on the website (apostrophes, etc) - why can't I get it to work after I've downloaded it. It seems like every font I've downloaded thus far (lobster two and california by dirt) won't allow me to enter a special character such as an apostrophe.

Is there an extra step I'm missing?

On a mac and trying to use these in Photoshop CS5.

Thanks!

What font are you using? Is it a Demo?

Hi,

The ones I just tried are lobster two and california dirt.

Hm...they should have apostrophe's...maybe you are using demo versions? (I know, I said that before, but you didn't specify.)

Hi,

I'm new to the site - how would I know if they are demo versions? I just clicked on the download button and installed it.

On the page where you got the font, above the download button, it should say "Demo", or "Free", or something like that. Never mind, I'm checking it myself.

Wait...none of the fonts you mentioned are on dafont.
