Creating a monospace typewriter font?

Mar 03, 2015 at 21:22

Hello,

I'm having some trouble. I need a font that will replicate my Olympia typewriter. The closest match aesthetically would be the "Travelling Typewriter" font. The only problem is that neither that font nor virtually any other typewriter facsimile font on the internet is MONOSPACE. Can with more skill than me take on this challenge? I can email high res scans of my alphabet.

I attached a link to the scan lower down in a reply.

Put it somewhere for download so that someone can have a look at it

Ça dépend ce que tu veus une tache ou une fonte de qualité.

Claude, first lets see what quality is the scan. If the OP wants something that follows the scan, probably, then anything that follows many Dick Pape and/or Gilles le Corre renderings may do. In the end he only asks for a monospaced rendering nothing about clean-up. Right?

koeiekat, je ne disais pas ça à toi mais à lapalco. Une fonte ne se fait pas en 1 minute.

Here is a scan of the alphabet at 1200 dpi:

It's for a publishing project I'm working on, so it would have to be clean enough to use in a printed book.

Would this do? http://www.dafont.com/splendid66.font

That is the Olympia and almost monospaced.

I tried that one actually already and it doesn't work. It really needs to be 100% monospaced. But don't worry about it, I think I've found a font that will work for me: Prestige 12 Pitch. Thanks. If you ever do find or create a fixed width Olympia let me know though!
