It look more like khmer letters style than thai letters style.

You are probably right. However, the original font name in the Solotype Catalog is Siamese and I took it from there when I named my font. This is likely a phototype possibly from Filmotype as Solo had tons of fonts from there.

Actually it looks very close to Tamil or Malayalam!
