Using wing ding fonts with Gimp

27/01/2012 a las 21:29

Hello, I use Gimp to paint cars for a racing game I use. I have downloaded some wing ding fonts but I can't get them to work in Gimp. To use fonts in Gimp you have to draw a text box and then choose what font to use and then type what you want in the text box. I can find the wig ding fonts but how do I get them on the car, what would I have to type in the text box?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Wrong forum I'm afraid. Try a Gimp one.

Sorry about that!! Since the fonts were from here I thought someone might know the answer.

Well, your question seems a little bit hard to understand. Do you mean that you want to know which key to press to obtain one particular symbol ? If that's the case, you can check the character map on the font page, there is a "grid" with letters and the matching symbol.

Just a question : did you have install on Windows the fonts you need ? Can you see they with other softwares ?

If not, start looking the FAQ here : http://www.dafont.com/faq.php#win
