Use of a free font on work for a charity

14/07/2015 a las 14:55

Hi there, I wonder if anyone can help? I've downloaded a font AKAPOSSE and would like to use it on the work I am doing for a charity. I've briefly read that licences need sometimes to be obtained. Does anyone know if I need to do this for this particular font?

In a nutshell, the work is for display in a museum - IT IS NOT FOR SALE BY THE MUSEUM and I'm not selling it to the museum. I'm an intern at the museum, creating them a new display.

Any guidance greatly received.

Thanks
Tracey

I (personally) think you are good to go. DaFont listing says 100% free and the licence in the font file says:
"This font is initially released as Freeware. However,
it is NOT placed in the public domain. All protectable
rights are reserved to James Milligan and akaType."
The only stipulations in the licence concern not selling the font or distributing it for profit.
But if you still have worries, you could try Contact: akaType@hotmail.com
… the given email in the font file.
