I made my first font (http://www.dafont.com/irregularis.font) about a year ago.
It took a few days using Font Creator, so I'm by no means a professional type designer.

I would like to know what you guys think of it, and how I can improve it, change it in anyway, in terms of both design and coding.

No comment on design. You make your things as you like so who am I to judge? Nah, why the difference in width in for example the slash and the brackets?

Coding? It lacks kerning, which would be a great improvement. But, worse, read this and shiver, 52 glyphs have one or more problems (not including off-curve extreme coordinates):

It looks like most designers' first font. You stuck your toe in the water, but didn't swim. It's no better, nor worse, than a thousand other hand printed alphabets.

The large number of glyphs is a nice touch. Technically, it's about average for a free font from a first time designer. It would look a lot better if you edited the glyphs in your font editor; there are too many unnecessary nodes, which make the lines too rough. I don't use FontCreator, but you should be able to right-click on a node, and delete it. Less is more applies to the nodes that define your contours.

I see what you mean. Deleting some points might make the characters look smoother, but in this case, the irregularities is what makes the font characteristic and somewhat unique. Hence the name "Irregularis".

Actually, Baville, the irregularities don't make you font somewhat unique. They make your font the same as every other rough edged hand printed alphabet that isn't edited after the source graphics are imported.

Your font isn't terrible, for a first effort. It could, however, have been better, and we'll expect that from your next one.

Baville, when importing an image set your smooth filter for tracing on smooth or super instead of none. You will still preserve most of the irregularities you like so much but you will get rid of most every node that does not add anything to what you mean to achieve.
