Sofia Pro II Light otf has fake small caps; need an alternative

Hi,
Sofia Pro II Light, from Mostar, is just what I'm looking for. It's similar to Avenir, but a bit more approachable. I was just about to go ahead and buy the whole family. But to my dismay I noticed they cut corners on the small caps!
Their otf has smcp and c2sc features - but these glyphs are just the uppercase scaled down slightly. So the strokes are too thin - and they're also too tall (which I presume is an effort to minimize the contrast from scaling down uppercase). Pro indeed.
I've emailed them, asking if they'd be interested in drawing real small caps, but no response yet.
Meanwhile I need to set text with a lot of acronyms, and so I'm looking for a replacement. The things I care about are:
- A single-story lowercase 'a' and 'g';
- The flat top to capital 'A';
- Generally large x-height and a relatively wide width.
- Both old style and lining figures;
- Proper small caps! I know this is rare for a geometric sans. That's why I'm asking for help.
So rather like Futura or Avenir, but a bit less formal. Sofia Pro II is obviously geometric, but feels quite friendly and almost casual to me.
Most similar things I've found (e.g. Proxima Nova Light) are too narrow.
I've been looking for a while, but in vain. Any suggestions welcome!
Thank you.
