Oh, I totally need to fix the kerning on this font.

Try including the image again using imgur.com - a link to it would be fine, I think the thread might have been moved (since you're looking for font suggestions rather than a specific font) so the main image got removed.

22.07.2012 um 17:14  [Antwort]  what font is this?

I'm not sure if Octin Sports is 100% correct but all the letters look accurate

Some others:

This might be the one you want ($0) http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/typodermic/octin-sports/regular/
or the semibold version might be more accurate but costs $24.00

Vorgeschlagener Font: Octin Sports (regular)

Is this a circumstance where you drew the kind of font you had in mind? Are you looking for something that is professionally finished off and smooth or has a handwritten finish?

Oh thanks, fixed the instructions. What is the difference between the two? Fontlab also has yet another Ascender and Descender option just to the right of those two.

Kat is right, in a lot of programs the ascender and descender will cut off any glyphs outside the boundaries so you can easily fix it by changing the ascender and descender in a font program. The font author probably avoided doing that because it basically shrinks the font a considerable amount but a shrunken font is better than a chopped off font in this case. I would help you but I don't want to compromise the font, if you want to do it yourself I can briefly explain how to do it in FontCreator (might be ttf only):

1) Open up the font..
2) On the top menu click 'Format' and then click the 'Settings' option on the bottom of that list.
3) Click the 'Metrics' tab on the settings menu.
4) Change the Typo Ascender to a larger number and the Typo Descender to a larger negative number.
5) Test the new boundaries by going to Font>Test (or press F5) and adjust if necessary.

The agreement for the most expensive signature package (on MyFonts) says:

"3. Fair Use. The basic P22 license is intended to accommodate personal use as in the course of everyday correspondence and document writing, or in the design of self-promotion pieces like business cards, newsletters and brochures. Other uses designated as “professional” or “commercial” may require additional licensing."

and further down says:

"A royalty based Commercial license is required when P22 font software is used to create a product sold for profit. If you have purchased the font(s) license for use as the principle design element to create a product to be sold such as, not limited to, rubberstamps, refrigerator magnets, or if the usage of the font adds value (value added) to a product to be sold such as wrist watches, house numbers, stencil kits, decals, digital art (screensavers, 3-D models, or other computer application), please call P22 at 716 885 4490 if you have any questions, for permission or to receive your commercial license quote or visit: http://www.p22.com/comlicensing.html for examples."

I don't see that license information provided on this font retailer, however: http://www.fonts.com/font/p22/p22-cezanne
The graphic artist could have purchased it from Fonts.com - maybe it came with a readme that you can only view after buying the font.

Seems like just a simple mistake, hard to tell who's even at fault (if the font author has license information but the font seller didn't provide it then that can get messy). One way or another they owe money for a commercial license, I don't think they owe anywhere near $1.5 mil...

Why would you want useless pictures of a font being used?... >:| Font fetish? What is happening here? Do something that wastes hours of your time for me first and I will negotiate with you after.

Thanks for the links

Make me.

You can also use Illustrator, just replace the word 'photoshop' with 'illustrator' in Daaams'... helpful.. link.

Photoshop will make all your band merchandise look pixelated IF you don't create it at a high resolution, Illustrator will be smooth when you enlarge and such. You'll need to learn a bit about either program if you decide to follow through with destroying fonts otherwise you should refer to existing grunge fonts if the learning curve takes too long.

This, I think, is the prime example of what I'm trying to explain.
http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/schizotype/toothpaste/

This free font also has some neat characters that use the .. process? option? technique? thingy: http://www.dafont.com/woodstamp.font (you can't test or see the characters I'm referring to in the preview, example: lowercase "er")

Every letter is able to connect to every other letter seamlessly (so it looks custom made) but I have yet to figure out how to do this and I don't know if the option has a specific name to even begin searching how to get started.

I use Highlogic's Font Creator mainly, and have an old version of Font Lab.. I am tired of having to use the same letters especially when placed next to eachother - when the font has textures and designs it can get pretty ugly/repetitive.

Any tips would be nice, thank you.
Andrew

The font Black Rose is pretty popular - as you said. I've seen it used in logos, merchandise and plenty of internet graphics to agree with you. Though it's not abused nearly as much as Comic Sans or Papyrus it very well may be in the future as far as we know. There aren't that many identical fonts to choose from but doing a quick search, I tried to find some soft/fat/cursive with sort of the thorny bits that resembles Black Rose.. wasn't too successful regarding thorny bits but I thought someone should at least try to help you. You say you are a man of a trade so I hope you are able to get money out of pocket and I assume since you already posted on Dafont that you've searched for what you could here.

Sudtipos on MyFonts has a lot of interesting fonts that could help, most ranging $40-70. Black Rose (lowercase) seems to remind me of the slick and thick 50's advertising fonts that I love - I may just bookmark this thread for the future for myself ;D

I made a font in illustrator, converted it to a font with fontcreator and usually use fontlab to export it as an OTF but this time the paths appear to be messed up or something in the TTF so when it's converted some letters are outlined and messed up.

Here is what the characters look like in FontCreator

Additionally I have 2 identical fonts, one with and one without textures. I am trying to make one appear into the subcategory menu on programs like photoshop. I have a clean and textured version (both named the same name but with different titles) so basically... I am trying to make it like this (below)..

Anyways, this is what happens right now.. Along with when I open the font file (just previewing it using the default font viewer) it shows only one of the fonts at a time and it only displays one font in the menu like the picture below.

Anyone know what I can do?

03.07.2010 um 07:03  [Antwort]  Britney Spears fotns?

I think this was just made in illustrator, If you google "Britney Spears Womanizer Font" nobody can provide any clear answer.
In illustrator you can replicate this with the grid enabled, snap to grid, grab the pen tool, apply a default stroke and change the stroke width..

If you don't use illustrator I would just settle for avant garde or "N.O. Movement"
