I have been out of the graphics game for a few years, but I remember using a program called FontOrg. Does anyone know what became of it? I can't seem to find on a Google search.
I haven't seen Al Jones for some time now. FontOrg is only distributed through his website and it looks like the registration of his domain (fontorg.us) wasn't renewed.
Thanks for the reply. You wouldn't happen to have a copy or know anyone who does?
Why ?
FontOrg don't work on windows 10.
@boodahbellie I do not know if Al Jones is still distributing his program but you can reach him through his website
http://aljones.us/ He does not have the program there but just a way to reach him,
I still have a copy that I got from Al Jones 5 years ago in my Gmail account. It is version 3.0 compiled on April 7, 2015. Unfortunately, Gmail now says the "
attachment contains a virus or blocked file. Downloading this attachment is disabled."
Thanks for the effort everybody.
Put my own backups of FontOrg and FontRenamer online at
https://github.com/GerHobbelt/FontOrg-and-FontRenamer
Haven't checked the exact date of the FontOrg version, but must've been 2014/2015 there-about.
HTH
Correction: checked. last available FontOrg in there (v3-150407) was posted in alt.binaries.fonts on 2015-04-08 by Alfred M Jones (Al Jones). That's the last one I've seen.
And the tools do work on latest Windows 10 (64 bit). (FontOrg has been tested to actually *work*. Haven't tested FontRenamer yet, apart from starting it, clicking a few bits and looking at the About box for the screenshot.)
I am using RedEar's Font Renamer on Windows 10 64-bit without encountering any problem. If that's not the font renamer you are referring to, RedEar's renamer is available at
