What software ? Photoshop? Illustrator ? Inkscpace ? Gimp ?

Play around with it and you'll probably be able to get it to look like a rainbow.
There also seems to be some other effect, too... You can try using a "chrome" effect?
yeah, it's not a font problem, it's a graphics software knowledge problem that you're facing.
Follow the tutorial given by cinny412 to get the gradient effect.
then :
- In the "layer style" window where you set up your gradient, there's "bevel and emboss" in the left column.
Play with this option to get the old school 3d effect
